Almost Completely Out of Circulation
Directed by Sigmund Neufeld, Jr.
Written by Mike Lloyd Ross
Synopsis: A comic book writer is killed just when the arch-enemy (Janus) of his comic book hero (the Condor) was to be unmasked. His
grandson, pre-teen Patrick, (Noah Hathaway) is sure the real-life person the enemy was based on is behind it, but he doesn’t know who that is. He
hires the Simons, with his mother’s reluctant okay, to find the man who killed his grandfather.
Rick, a huge fan of the Condor, believes the answer can be found in past issues of the comic book. A.J., however, has evidently thrown out
Rick’s prized collection years before, to Rick’s horror.
The trail leads straight down the family tree, and they discover that the murderer, and the basis for Janus, is none other than the writer’s own son.

Review:
I really enjoyed this one. Rick was adorable as the wide-eyed comic book fan, horribly wronged by his thoughtless brother. It’s a miracle he didn’t deck A.J..
Also a great
performance by Noah Hathaway. I’ve always enjoyed his work and was sorry to see him disappear during the 80s. Fairly easy trivia question: This is not the last time Gerald McRaney and Noah Hathaway worked together. They later appeared in a blockbuster movie together, though never in the same scene. Name that movie (or email me if it’s bugging you ;) ).
The plot held together; there were fun scenes between the brothers; the guest stars were charming. That’s really all I ask.
