My first Simon & Simon info site, online since 2005. Due to "old" WYSIWYG editing tools, this one was difficult to update, so it's only about episode locations, photos and co-stars like Marlowe, the dog. www.simon-and-simon.info

Remember Myron Fowler who owned the other detective agency – across the street?

Voiceover artist known for 1980s Miller Lite commercials
By Mike Barnes, June 4, 2010
Eddie Barth, a veteran actor and voiceover artist known as „Mr. Gravel“ for his raspy timbre, died May 28 at his home in Los Angeles of heart failure. He was 78.

Barth appeared in 38 episodes of „Simon & Simon,“ the 1981-89 CBS series that starred Gerald McRaney and Jameson Parker as brothers and owners of a private detective agency. Barth played Myron Fowler, the owner of Peerless Detectives, a rival agency.

The Philadelphia native closed the classic Miller Lite beer commercials (Tastes Great … Less Filling) of the 1980s with the line, „Lite Beer from Miller; everything you want from a beer and less.“

Barth also did voice work on „Osmosis Jones“ (2001), „Babe: Pig in the City“ (1998) and „Superman: The Animated Series.“

He played a police lieutenant on CBS series „Shaft,“ an 1973 offshoot of the movie, and had regular roles on „Murder, She Wrote,“ „Civil Wars,“ „Night Court“ and „Stone.“

Survivors include his wife Sally, his son Victor, his grandson Tommy and his daughter-in-law Annie.

No services are planned. The family asks that donations in his name be made to the Actors Fund, the American Heart Assn. or any children’s charity.

The character Myron Fowler wasn´t easy to love. 😉 Most of the times he acted more like an opponent to Rick and AJ, but sure there were times when he helped them out!

RIP Eddie Barth.

Interview at the A-Team premiere!

From blog2ZAPit:

‚The A-Team‘ Gerald McRaney: ‚Rue McClanahan was a great broad‘
By Elizabeth Snead, June 4, 2010

The Dish Rag caught up with veteran actor Gerald McRaney at the action-packed premiere of „The A-Team“ Thursday (June 3) in Hollywood.

We’re talking a real chopper circling above Grauman’s Theatre and a huge military tank rolling down Hollywood Blvd.

Gerald, one of the classiest actors on TV and in films, talked about his role in ‚A-Team,‘ the loss of his friend Rue McClanahan and the seemingly eternal appeal of „The Golden Girls.“

„She [Rue] was a great broad and she would not be mad at using that word,“ he said. „I’m gonna miss her.“

He calls her death ‚ending an era of those actresses who had all that talent and were just as humble as you could possibly imagine, and just good, good people. always there on time, always prepared, professionals.“

We didn’t have time to chat with Gerald about his role in the hotly anticipated new J.J. Abrams action TV series, „Undercovers,“ airing this fall, about two married former spies who find it hard to give up the biz.

But here’s a clip to get you psyched for it.

Don´t miss the clips! Here:

Where are they now? – Jeannie Wilson

Isn´t it nice to see what the cast is doing now? The White Rock Lake Weekly had a longer article about Jeannie Wilson who played „Janet Fowler“ during the first 2 seasons – read about her here:

jeanniewilsonwhiterock

Last weekend, Wilson and Lucarelli premiered their feature film, Disrupt/Dismantle, at Colorado’s Vail Film Festival to enthusiastic audiences. The film focuses on the Los Angeles Police Department’s elite undercover narcotics division, and the challenges its officers face trying to take down a powerful drug cartel while balancing their commitment to family. Wilson is associate producer and fills the role of Detective Stern, while the film is co-produced, co-directed and co-written by Lucarelli and his partner, Troy Price, and stars Lucarelli.
